EDINA — A new outpost of local baby boutique Pacifier will open at 50th & France in mid to late August.
Pacifier offers hip alternatives to traditional baby gifts and apparel. The Edina location will have a clothing focus, offering styles for babies and kids up to age 12 from lines like Tea Collection.
Wing Witthuhn said many of Pacifier’s online customers live in the southwest area. When a space opened at 50th & France, she and her husband, co-founder Jon Witthuhn, jumped at the opportunity to expand their store’s presence.
“It’s just a really cute, unique area of shops,” she said. “We love the fact that there’s parking right there for our customers, which doesn’t exist right now at our northeast or downtown stores.”
In addition to clothing, the Edina store will offer a small selection of Pacifier’s best-selling strollers. The northeast store will remain the major hub for baby gear.
Witthuhn opened Pacifier in the Old St. Anthony district in 2004 after she and Witthuhn struggled to find unique gifts for family and friends with babies. Witthuhn joined her several months later.
Pacifier also has a downtown location and an online store that ships to a national customer base.
